Refugio Casa Piedra

A real hidden gem and a fantastic base camp for climbing in the area with over 20 routes rated 6a-8a ( 5.10 to 5.12 in US scale) right at the property. Located close to the ferry to Chile Chico and many attractions like Salto el Rio Ibanez, Casa Piedra and stones throw away from Cerro Castillo with hiking, mountaineering and more climbing. Brand new sparkling camping with decent facilities and cozy common area with equipped kitchen. Host Jorge is extremely nice guy and a big enthusiast of climbing. He is putting new routes all the time and fun to hang out with (speaking decent English and reply momentarily through Instagram or WhatsApp). Extremely recommended if you are into climbing, but be aware that 4WD is a must to get to the top of the property. The driveway is steep and narrow though very scenic. Signage is great too, so just follow it after you turn left on the last t-section and open the gate to the property at the bottom.
