Hostal Austral

As a backpacker all of the hostels in Coyhaique are overpriced. This is one of the most affordable hostels in town and is still more than twice as expensive as many I have stayed at in other parts of south America. It is very new so much of the hostel seems to still be a work in progress (only three bathrooms, hot water that is hard to control, a kitchen missing important appliances or tools (they didn't have a can opener) and no lockers or any locks on rooms at all. Because of this, it did not make me feel like I was necessarily getting the service I was paying for (I feel it should cost half as much as it did).That being said, I actually had a very pleasant stay there. Things are just expensive in this part of chile and once I got over the price tag I was so happy to have a warm dry place filled with friendly people as I had just been on the road and camping in the rain for multiple nights. This hostel does attract plenty of other travelers which makes it a great place to meet others and share experiences or find potential travel partners. The beds themselves are nice and quite comfortable (my standards are low as I had just been sleeping on the ground outside prior) and the communal space is big and has a large TV if that is something you enjoy.Overall it was a pleasant break from being on the road, I just don't feel like it was worth the pricetag.

Pésimo, sucio y descuidado, seguridad nula, ruido hasta la madrugada, baños poco higienicos. Un lugar que no recomendaría a nadie y para lo que ofrece es bastante caro, una pesima experiencia y pérdida de $$

Good room, good communal area, good price, a little run down maintenance wise but perfectly acceptable overnight stay.

Very basic, often noisy till late. Some rooms don't have windows. Still the cheapest hostel in the city though.

Un lugar comodo y muy económico 100% recomendable

La habitación que nos brindaron fue con baño privado y cama matrimonial cómoda, el aseo súper bien, había un calentador que no funcionaba, el espacio estaba bien. En general la habitación estaba buena.Mala experiencia en cuanto a los huéspedes, que durante todo el día hacían demasiado ruido desde que desayunaban temprano hasta que se dormían (muy tarde). Escuchaban música con parlante fuerte.Sólo estuvimos 1 día ya que no pudimos descansar como corresponde de un largo viaje.De las personas que nos recibieron nada que decir, muy amables.

Bien lugar centrico

No fue lo que se nos mostró al contratar por web. Un pequeño cuarto en una azotea, poco higiénico, con ventanal en la puerta expuestos a todos, sin pestillos o llave, con un solo enchufe en altura lo cual para viajeros y d a dos, es imposible cargar tus cámaras, teléfonos, etc.
