We visited Chile and were suggested to obtain a prepaid plan at WOM. When we visited the store on March 11th., the girls were happy to sell us two SIM cards. We were told we had to register our phones with the government.We told them we were only going to be in the country for a week. We then tried to register our units with no success.On the 13th we attended the same location and when we told the two girls what was going on, they told us this issues were not their problem and told us to go to “FIXSMART” and even told us how to ge to their location.We walked over and the two young men were able to resolve the issue. One SIM card was was not working even though it had been properly registered and the second phone was activated immediately.The technicians even told us that this issue could have been dealt at the store and didn’t understand why they would refuse looking at our phones at the WOM store.They also told us that Chile does not require any one visiting the country for 30 days or less to register the phone on their web site.We then returned to the store and told the girls that we had attended the FIXSMART store and told them what the techs had informed us.This time they replaced the SIM card and the second phone worked finally.This exercise could have been dealt with from the very beginning if the girls at the store would have helped us and informed us with the right information.TIP: If you are visiting Chile you do NOT need to register the phone as they will allow you to use it for 30 days. After 30 days you will need to register it.
