We spent 2 nights in this beautifully renovated old house .Lovely owner and staff made us feel extremely welcome on arrival inviting us to glass of Chilean wine while we waited for the second room to be ready (we checked in early )They gave good recommendations for places to eat . I can definately recommend their Pisco sour"! Room spotless with very comfortable bed and what appeared to be brand new bed linen .Also invited to watch the dancers at a local wedding which took place in the hotel.Pleasant garden to relax in and within walking distance to restaurants .Very welcoming hotel .s new bed linen"

Matildas Hotel Boutique
Our group chose to stay somewhere authentic, and this hit the mark. The staff was fabulous, the rooms were perfect, and the garden was beautiful. Being here made us feel a part of Santiago. We felt safe and had restaurants within walking distance. The only thing I would warn people about - there is no central air; still, the fans provided in each room did the job well.

Es una joya de edificio antiguo, es hermoso y bien conservado. La decoración es de todo gusto estilo antigua principios de siglo. Estuve en una boda que se realizó en los jardines. El área es pequeña pero muy hermosa y bien mantenida

Matildas Hotel Boutique
I adored my stay in this hotel and want to come back as soon as I can. The house is gorgeous and the rooms are charming. It felt like a fairytale to walk on real wood floors and open french doors onto my balcony in the cool of the morning. The whole staff was so friendly and helpful, and the entire time I felt like I was in an oasis. Every person, from front desk, to dining room, to kitchen, and housekeeping, were courteous and anticipated every need I could have. The breakfast was a delightful variety of breads, sweets, fruits, and dairy products. The location was perfect for me as Barrio Brasil is a lively suburb only a 30 minute walk (or a low cost uber ride) from Cerro Santa Lucia. Matildas was also in the pickup zone for both of the Viator tours I took. The only thing that could have put the cherry on top would be an espresso machine in the kitchen, but it wouldn't be fair to every other business in Santiago if Matildas had it all ;)I truly can't say in words, but thank you from the bottom of my heart to the whole Matildas team for being the highlight of my first trip to Chile. Can't wait to come see you again!

The staff of Matilda’s made our stay special with their thoughtful attention. The hotel is a lovely renovated building in a part of town littered with great places to eat and yet quiet enough to alow a good nights sleep. The private garden is beautiful to relax in. Highly recommended

4.5 stars. Everything was great but one key element. The service was friendly and helpful, the room comfortable and cozy with charm, the lobby and sitting room is relaxing and well stocked. The breakfast area was filled with a variety of foods and beverages even cooked omelet or eggs on request. A nice quaint garden out back with two ancient trees. The only complaint I had was we arranged transport from the airport through the hotel and had to wait at the outside area for nearly an hour. That was brutal.

Unfortunately our room had what we believe to be mold and was incredibly dusty. We had trouble breathing after being in the room for just 30 minutes and needed to check out without staying the night out of fear for our health. The hotel also accused us of stealing their towels which is absolutely ridiculous. We tried to resolve the issue after the fact and they claimed the smell and trouble breathing may have been caused by trees in the area which I find hard to believe. I’ve been in moldy/dusty rooms before and it was one in the same in my opinion.
