Terrible tour. Scheduled a tour to see the king penguins, to be picked up at 5am-530am the following morning. Tour guides did not show up until 645…Leaving us outside in the cold waiting for 1.5ths. Provided little to no tour guide information on route, very disorganized the entire way and ultimately the trip ended up taking 15hrs total for 1 hrs with the penguins. Tour guides also trip to skip the ferry line and ultimately made us wait longer. Do not recommend, look elsewhere.

My wife and I booked this tour for my birthday, and it was extremely disappointing. From the tour description which we were given ahead of time, we were supposed to take the two hour ferry across the Strait of Magellan to begin the tour. We were looking forward to the opportunity to see wildlife in the strait.Instead, we were driven 2 hours in a rather uncomfortable van to a shorter crossing. I presume it is cheaper to do this crossing, which lasted about 30 minutes and allowed no opportunity to see anything in the strait.Again, according to the tour description, we were supposed to stop in Porvenir first for lunch. Instead we went to the penguin colony first, another 1.5 hour drive. This was the only positive as it was nice to see the penguins, even from a distance. We were able to spend about 20 minutes viewing them. After this, we got back in the van and drove another 1.5-2 hours to Porvenir. We were looking forward to lunch, but at the last moment, our guide informed us that the restaurant we had planned to go to was not open. I assume it was because we were arriving close to 2 PM, so many of the restaurants had already closed their lunch service. The restaurant they took us to had limited options, and they were reheating the available food in the microwave. They also only took cash, which we opted not to bring as we were assured we wouldn't need it.We chose to walk to another restaurant and have lunch, which was pleasant. However, when we were halfway through our meal, our guide began to text me saying they were waiting for us. We didn't want to hold up the group, so we quickly packed up our food and got the bill. This didn't upset me (I assumed we had to catch the ferry) until we drove another 1.5-2 hours to the ferry and then were told the ferry would be leaving in 45 minutes. So after rushing through lunch, we then sat in the van for close to an hour waiting for the ferry. We arrived back in Punta Arenas a little after 8 PM.Lastly, our guide and driver were kind and attentive. However, they lacked some basic professionalism. At one point, I had to ask the driver to turn the loud music down, as he was blasting music in the van where everyone was either trying to sleep or have quiet conversations. They spent most of the day in conversation with each other. Our guide turned around from the front seat to give us some scripted information 3-4 times, but lacked the English proficiency to answer more complex questions. All in all, we spent close to 11 hours in a van to view penguins for 20 minutes, paying 70000 clp each for the experience, plus another 12000 each for the reserve itself. That said, we knew going in it would be a long day. If we had been provided the tour as it was described to us (a longer ferry crossing rather than a long ride, lunch first when more options were open, a knowledgeable English speaking guide), we would have no complaints.
