Ideal location for kayaking in Chile. The rivers are stunning and the whitewater is everything you need/want it to be. Would highly recommend the Fuy Plus Pucon trip for more advanced paddlers - the sub-trip to the Fuy really takes the cake and offers more variety to the trip. The retreat could use some touch ups on the finer details, but they are heading in the right direction and the instructors and rivers are the reason for being there anyway.

David has created a culture of buena onda" and you can experience it from the moment you walk into his property in the best location of Pucon. Due to a series of unfortunate experiences in my ducky I had developed a phobia of any kind of white water. Last year I attended a swift white water course in an attempt to reduce my fear and I believe it just got worse. Going to the Pucon Kayak Retreat's beginner kayak session however was the best thing I could have done and they actually got me out on a river in a hard boat for my first time ever. Besides being an incredibly gorgeous setting, the instructors are top notch and the food is great too. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, you are sure to have a blast with Pucon Kayak Retreat! My husband has been kayaking for seven years so he took the advance session while I took the beginner.I can't think of any other setting where we could have both paddled and still have been able to vacation together. In addition to kayaking the hiking, biking, climbing and other activities are spectacular. The retreat staff is also amazing with making a group of strangers into a group of supportive friends. And there is some great live music and the best doggies ever. Really great vibes, I highly recommend.

A trip of a lifetime! My soul feels restored after spending a week at Pucon Kayak Retreat. The owner David Hughes has really built something special, and all the staff and kayak instructors are outstanding. I'm an intermediate paddler with a combat roll that is hit and miss - I felt challenged yet totally safe under the guidance of expert paddling instructors during the Week of Rivers trip. The rivers and scenery down here will take your breadth away.If you can afford to stay in one of the river suites, I'd recommend it - I loved going to bed and waking up to the sound and view of the river.I stayed a few extra days at the retreat after the paddling week to explore Pucon and rented a car to drive around the surrounding area. (although be warned that the volcano climb is VERY windy).

Incredible place with incredible people. The riverside cabins are amazing as you wake up to the sounds of the rapids and a beautiful view of the river. I booked on to a multi-sport adventure and it was jam packed of fun, adventure and wonderful Chilean experiences. The staff even helped me get back into a kayak and rebuilt my confidence on the water after some time off. Cannot recommend enough for those want to experience the beauty and culture of Chile or simply want to kayak/raft some incredible rivers.
