EMSA RENT A CAR AVIS SUBLICENCIA

I would not recommend EMSA/Avis Sub-Contractor. The only two positive things I have to say about them are the cheap rental prices and the nice people who work inside in Punta Arenas. If you are visiting from a country with decent automobile standards, these cars are not for you. Our car did not have a door that was properly sealed so road noise was loud and dust got inside our car in Torres Del Paine....A LOT of dust. So much dust my wife and I were coughing up a storm and decided to put on masks inside the car! The vehicles they have are not equipped with cruise control which was a major disappointment since we drove all the way up to Chalten and then down to Ushuaia and back to Punta Arenas.If all you need is a mode of transportation and you only care about the least expensive way to rent a car, this might be for you. For everyone else, consider paying more for a nicer vehicle.

We rented from the airport location of Avis, and were quite surprised not to find a booth. We called the number on the reservation, and it was explained to us that due to COVID-19, the booth is gone, and to look for a person with an Avis sign instead. We found the person, and he drove us to the Punta Arena center of town location, about 20 minutes. The two guys inside were great, and we were thrilled that Avis doesn't nickel and dime their customers. The car was a little beat up, but not too bad, shifted smoothly, and had cruise control, AC, and power windows and door locks. Overall, happy with the experience.

The Staff are really courteous and nice.Due to the remote location, the cars are expensive. 2.5 times the average cost of cars in other places.The office location is a bummer since Avis does not have an office at the Airport. There is a shuttle service that takes you to Punto Arenas to pickup the car. This becomes massively inconvenient of you intend to travel to Puerto Natalis.This should have been clearly informed to us by the company at the time of booking.It becomes really difficult for non Spanish Speakers to coordinate with the office.

The staff was friendly and helpful however the cars are very old. The car the gave us was a duster it had a cracked windshield and after speeding to 80 km will shake like crazy. It is not Avis is a subcontractor of Avis. It is not located in at the airport.A taxi driver takes you to the office which for us at the beginning was scary having no idea that the cars located 20 minutes away at the town.

Great service!We’ve rented a car from EMSA for our Patagonia trip.Everything was perfect - a taxi was waiting for us in the airport for the pickup, the car was in a good condition, and all the required paperwork for crossing the border back and forth to Argentina was ready for us.Price was also very reasonable.When we returned the car, it was very early so the office was not opened yet - but the (complementary) taxi for our airport transfer was waiting for us, on time.

Los vendedores en oficina muy dispuestos no así la Srta Maria que está en asistencia telefonica y que resulta ser la jefa de la oficina que despúes de un problema reiterado con el vehículo arrendado y perdiendo tiempo de mis vacaciones solucionó y al momento de compensar el mal rato, un chiste. Con ellos nunca más. Ojo que es con EMSA no con AVIS

Very good company. Good prices. We rented a really small sedan but it was perfectly fine on the gravel roads of patagonia and in the heavy wind. Also very easy to get the permit to enter Argentina and all the process and paperwork was presented

Very smooth rental experience. We rented an automatic SUV for one day. The agent is very friendly and speak excellent English.

Very good service, good car as well! It served us well for our 10 days trip in Patagonia (both Chile and Argentina sides)!!Highly recommended!

Nice car, professional staff. Friendly and polite. Much recommend. There are located in the city but they have a free on demand taxi/shuttle service
